Since Petzl no longer supports the Myo XP, many 2021 owners are converting theirs to run on a 14500 lithium battery (AA size) or a small USB power bank.
A: Preventative care is key. Avoid sharp bends in the cable, especially near the headlamp and battery pack. When storing the headlamp, do not wrap the cable tightly around the unit. A high-flexibility, 2-core copper wire (22 or 24 AWG). USB cables or old headphone wires make excellent donors. Since Petzl no longer supports the Myo XP,
Insert batteries and test the headlamp before screwing it back together. Cycle through the brightness modes and click the boost button.
Gently pry the old LED star away from the plastic heatsink backing.
